Natalie J. Goertz, RN, BScN, CIC
Natalie Goertz holds a BScN (UWO, London, Ontario) and is a registered nurse. She is currently completing a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology. Natalie is certified through the Certification Board of Infection Control and has experience in all levels of health care including a large tertiary health care centre, a large community hospital as well as public health. She has managed an Infection Prevention and Control department in acute care. Natalie has served as co-chair of the IPAC-Canada Surveillance and Epidemiology Interest Group and as President for the IPAC-Canada Southwestern Ontario Chapter. She has extensive knowledge of program development and evaluation for Infection Control Programs, Environmental Services and Reprocessing Departments and has successfully led these groups through the Accreditation process. Natalie has experience in conducting, participating and evaluating research to infection control practices and has presented research findings at national and international conferences including IPAC-Canada, APIC and SHEA.
Stefan David, BSc Eng, P.Eng.
Director of Strategic Development
Stefan David graduated from Guelph University with a degree in Systems and Computing Engineering. He is a professional engineer with experience in mechanical and electrical designations. Stefan has a keen interest in business development and has spent 8 years’ experience managing Toshiba’s Canadian operations. He is well versed in all project phases, including green field development, contract negotiations and project delivery. Stefan has completed the CSA Designing for the Future Z8000 – Canadian Health Care Facilities and Effective Implementation and Practical Application of Infection Control During Construction, Renovation and Maintenance courses. He is a key member of IPAC Consulting’s leadership team through strategic business development and guiding future direction.
Director of Business and Administrative Operations
Jen has proven herself to be an extremely effective leader at IPAC Consulting. Jen leads our customer service and client satisfaction team. They strive to provide our clients with customized solutions and continuously improving our service delivery.
Jen has 16 years of knowledge and experience in business administration, accounting, and management. Jen has been an instrumental player in process improvement initiatives within these roles. Jen plays a key role in the management and development of business operations at IPAC Consulting.
Jen leads our education and graphic design teams with subject matter expertise from our consultants.
Jen is certified in Joint Health and Safety and contributes to the development of both internal and client specific Health and Safety initiatives.
INFECTION CONTROL AND HEALTH & SAFETY PRACTITIONERS
Our team of Infection Control and Health & Safety Practitioners have experience in large tertiary centres, public health and community based hospitals. Our experience ranges infection control and occupational health program planning, front line policy development and implementation, outbreak management to planning and executing complex construction and facility relocation. We understand the importance of engaging key stake holders to successfully implement changes. We are successful because not only do we have experience in consulting but we have experience in “doing”. We have worked closely will various front line and allied health staff to know that our recommendations do not only mitigate risk but are practical solutions to for those who are expected to carry them out.
Portia Schuurmans, BScH, OCAD
Portia completed her Honours BSc in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Wilfrid Laurier University, and after working for a couple years, she returned to school to study Advanced Biotechnology at Durham College and earned an Ontario College Advanced Diploma. She is currently earning a Masters degree in Infectious Disease at The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in London, England, has completed her Associate of Infection Prevention and Control certification, and is working towards obtaining her CIC designation. Both of these are continuing to expand her knowledge of effective infection control and the ways the principles can be applied to practical measures.
Having always had an interest in the science of healthcare, and with previous roles related to safety and quality control, Portia brings experience in leadership, education, and continuous improvement. Portia’s expertise pertains to Dentistry and Oral surgery, and she is a qualified fit tester. She also has experience in health care construction and renovation with knowledge in various design standards including the CSA Infection Control During Construction and Renovation (Z317.13-12) and Canadian Healthcare Facilities (Z8000).
Victoria Jerome, BScH, OCD
Victoria’s passion for infection prevention and control began during her time at Conestoga College, where she earned an Ontario College Diploma with distinction, through her successful completion of the Biotechnology Technician program. Since then, she continued her studies at the University of Guelph, with an Honours Degree in Biological Sciences and a Certificate in Food Science. Her education has provided her with wide-ranging scientific knowledge, allowing her to excel in implementing infection control principles and food safety management systems. She has completed her Associate of Infection Prevention and Control certification, and is currently working towards obtaining her CIC designation.
Victoria’s areas of expertise include Dentistry, Social Services, and Hospitality Services. Victoria also provides qualified fit testing to our clients. Vikki’s expertise extends to Infection Control in Healthcare Construction and Renovation. She is well versed in various design standards including the CSA Infection Control During Construction and Renovation (Z317.13-12) and Canadian Healthcare Facilities (Z8000).
Chris DeVries, BScH
Chris’ interest in infectious diseases and disease transmission was sparked during his time studying Global Health and Neuroscience at the University of Toronto. With extensive experience working and learning in laboratory environments, Chris brings his experience in research, education, and medical and scientific fields of study to our team of consultants.
Chris is an instrumental component of IPAC Consulting’s team, developing and updating client policies to adhere to the latest public health guidelines, and continuously studying the latest research to ensure that all policies, audits, and assessments are accurate and precise. Chris has worked closely with our clients in the Social Services, Hospitality Services, and Dental sectors to create a safe environment for both their staff and clients.
Chris is fluent in both English and French.
Monica has over 14 years of experience in developing e-learning and education in the health care field. She has a B.A. in English and Professional Writing and a Certificate in Adult Education. Monica designs and develops IPAC Consulting’s e-learning modules for infection control.
Graphic Design and Marketing Associate
Kaitlyn has a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Waterloo and a diploma in Advertising and Graphic Design from Humber College. She comes to IPAC Consulting with five years of experience in graphic design and marketing, and three years of experience designing for the dental industry.
Kaitlyn is responsible for the graphic design and marketing at IPAC Consulting, and she also provides customer support for IPAC’s e-learning.
Donna has twenty-five years’ experience in business, education, curriculum development, publishing, and creative design. She is designing learning modules for infection control learning for dentistry. See our products page and add the modules to get updates when they become available.
Amy graduated from Everest College as a Personal Support Worker. Amy has eight years of experience in Long Term Care including outbreak management and management of nosocomial infections such as C.diff, MRSA, VRE, and respiratory illness. She then moved into acute care where she trained and practiced as an environmental services worker. Amy has four years of experience in cleaning, disinfection, and outbreak protocol management in a hospital setting.
Stephanie Fletcher, CPA, CMA
Finance and Accounting
Stephanie has been involved in IPAC Consulting since its inception and is actively involved in business development and project management. She graduated from the University of Waterloo with an honours degree in Financial Management, and went on to obtain her Certified Management Accountant designation. Stephanie has always had a love for business and has a background in public accounting. With her education and experience, Stephanie contributes financial and operational expertise in the development and implementation of IPAC Consulting’s business practices.
Chad Tiffin is an accomplished web developer, and also a pilot. He has designed the IPAC Consulting audit app from the ground up. The app allows IPAC Consulting experts to maximize client time, standardize audits, and provide clients with the best possible reporting to help them get to Compliance quickly and efficiently.
