NATALIE J. GOERTZ | RN, BSCN, CIC
Natalie Goertz holds a BScN (UWO, London, Ontario) and is a registered nurse. She is currently completing a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology. Natalie is certified through the Certification Board of Infection Control and has experience in all levels of health care including a large tertiary health care centre, a large community hospital as well as public health. She has managed an Infection Prevention and Control department in acute care. Natalie has served as co-chair of the IPAC-Canada Surveillance and Epidemiology Interest Group and as President for the IPAC-Canada Southwestern Ontario Chapter. She has extensive knowledge of program development and evaluation for Infection Control Programs, Environmental Services, and Reprocessing Departments and has successfully led these groups through the Accreditation process. Alexandra Rhoades
Allie has always held an interest in promoting health and preventing disease while focusing on population health. She completed her undergrad at Brock university and graduated with an Honours bachelor’s in public health, hoping to further her education in the future. She has gained experience with health promotion, health policy and has learned about emerging health issues both locally and globally. Through volunteer experience, Allie has been able to promote health and education to community members through outreach programs and has been able to research and spread evidence-based knowledge surrounding COVID-19 with volunteer platforms. Allie is excited to be a part of the IPAC team and strives to create safe work environments through proper infection control practices. I am currently in my final year of studies at Carleton University in the Bachelor of Health Sciences Honour’s program with a concentration in Global Health. My administration and medical backgrounds really find a happy medium within IPAC; merging my interest in helping the community as well as ensuring clients receive the best programs possible. MICHAEL STOCKALL | OCD
Michael’s involvement in the world of infection control began at Conestoga College, where he earned an Ontario College Certificate by completing their Pre-Health Sciences program; this was followed by the completion of Conestoga’s Biotechnology Technician program, where he earned an Ontario College Diploma with distinction. Since then, Michael has continued his education at the University of Guelph, with an Honours Degree in Microbiology, minoring in Molecular Biology and Genetics. Michael’s education has provided him with a thorough background in the nature of infectious diseases and how we can best mitigate their spread through various professional sectors. Michael works with clients in Hospitality Services, Social Services, and Dentistry to audit and assess their infection control practices, as well as develop new policies, or update current ones in order to adhere to the latest public health guidelines.Read more / Less

Portia completed her Honours BSc in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Wilfrid Laurier University, and after working for a couple of years, she returned to school to study Advanced Biotechnology at Durham College and earned an Ontario College Advanced Diploma. She is currently earning a Master’s degree in Infectious Disease at The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in London, England, has completed her Associate of Infection Prevention and Control certification, and is working towards obtaining her CIC designation. Both of these are continuing to expand her knowledge of effective infection control and the ways the principles can be applied to practical measures.
Having always had an interest in the science of healthcare, and with previous roles related to safety and quality control, Portia brings experience in leadership, education, and continuous improvement. Portia’s expertise pertains to Dentistry and Oral surgery, and she is a qualified fit tester. Annupal’s interest in healthcare began as she studied Kinesiology at Brock University, after which she pursued Nursing at Centennial College. She is a Registered Practical Nurse who is well rounded in the aspects of health and wellness, with Nursing experience at Toronto General Hospital. She has recently switched gears and now focuses on COVID-19 testing with IPAC.
