Natalie J. Goertz, RN, BScN, CIC

Natalie Goertz holds a BScN (UWO, London, Ontario) and is a registered nurse.  She is currently completing a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology.  Natalie is certified through the Certification Board of Infection Control and has experience in all levels of health care including a large tertiary health care centre, a large community hospital as well as public health.  She has managed an Infection Prevention and Control department in acute care.  Natalie has served as co-chair of the IPAC-Canada Surveillance and Epidemiology Interest Group and as President for the IPAC-Canada Southwestern Ontario Chapter.  She has extensive knowledge of program development and evaluation for Infection Control Programs, Environmental Services and Reprocessing Departments and has successfully led these groups through the Accreditation process.  Natalie has experience in conducting, participating and evaluating research to infection control practices and has presented research findings at national and international conferences including IPAC-Canada, APIC and SHEA.

Stefan David, BSc Eng, P.Eng.
Director of Strategic Development

Stefan David graduated from Guelph University with a degree in Systems and Computing Engineering. He is a professional engineer with experience in mechanical and electrical designations. Stefan has a keen interest in business development and has spent 8 years’ experience managing Toshiba’s Canadian operations. He is well versed in all project phases, including green field development, contract negotiations and project delivery. Stefan has completed the CSA Designing for the Future Z8000 – Canadian Health Care Facilities and Effective Implementation and Practical Application of Infection Control During Construction, Renovation and Maintenance courses. He is a key member of IPAC Consulting’s leadership team through strategic business development and guiding future direction.

Stephanie Fletcher, CPA, CMA
Manager of Operations & Finance

Stephanie has been involved in IPAC Consulting since its inception and is actively involved in business development and project management. She graduated from the University of Waterloo with an honours degree in Financial Management, and went on to obtain her Certified Management Accountant designation. Stephanie has always had a love for business and has a background in public accounting. With her education and experience, Stephanie contributes financial and operational expertise in the development and implementation of IPAC Consulting’s business practices.


Our ID Physicians are experts in their field.  They have extensive experience in providing consultation in tertiary, community and public health care settings.  They are knowledgeable with the latest research and best practice guidelines.  We utilize their expertise internally to ensure our products are of the very best quality.  Our clients also can have individualized packages developed to utilize consultations should they require this service.

Dr. John Michael

Michael John, MSc, MB, ChB, FRCPC

Dr. Michael John is a Medical Microbiologist and the Medical Director, Infection Prevention and Control for the London hospitals.  He is a Professor in pathology, medicine and Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Western Ontario.  His clinical practice is at the Sexually Transmitted Infection Clinic at the Middlesex London Health Unit.  His research interests include hospital-acquired infections and probiotics.

Johan Delport, MB, ChB, MMed

Dr. Johan Delport is a Medical Microbiologist and the Section head of Bacteriology, Division Microbiology at London Health Sciences. He is a Assistant Professor in Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Western Ontario. His clinical practice is at the Sexually Transmitted Infection Clinic at the Middlesex London Health Unit. His research interests include hospital-acquired infections and resistant organisms.


Our team of Infection Control Practitioners have experience in large tertiary centres, public health and community based hospitals.  Our experience ranges infection control and occupational health program planning, front line policy development and implementation, outbreak management to planning and executing complex construction and facility relocation.  We understand the importance of engaging key stake holders to successfully implement changes.  We are successful because not only do we have experience in consulting but we have experience in “doing”.  We have worked closely will various front line and allied health staff to know that our recommendations do not only mitigate risk but are practical solutions to for those who are expected to carry them out.

Portia Schuurmans

Portia Schuurmans, BSc, OCAD
IPAC Consultant

Portia completed her Honours BSc in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Wilfrid Laurier University, and after working for a couple years, she returned to school to study Advanced Biotechnology at Durham College. She recently started a Masters degree in Infectious Disease at The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in London, England, and is working towards obtaining her CIC designation. Having always had an interest in the science of healthcare, and with previous roles related to safety and quality control, Portia brings experience in leadership, education, and continuous improvement. Since joining the IPAC team in September 2018, she has assisted IPAC Consulting through education and onsite assessments.

Vikki Jerome

Vikki’s passion for infection prevention and control began during her time at Conestoga College, where she earned an Ontario College Diploma with distinction, through her successful completion of the Biotechnology Technician program. Since then, she has continued her studies at the University of Guelph, with an Honours in Biological Sciences. She is also working towards obtaining her CIC designation.


Jen Weston

Jen Weston
Client Engagement and Office Manager

Jen has 16 years of knowledge in business administration, accounting, and management experience. Jen has been an instrumental player in process improvement initiatives within these roles and is a key part of the IPAC Consulting team’s customer service and client satisfaction. Jen provides our clients with customized solutions based on their specific needs. She is also certified in Joint Health and Safety and contributes to the development of client specific Health and Safety initiatives.

Nicole Miller

Nicole Miller
Human Resources and Environmental Safety Manager

Nicole has a background in Business Administration – Management/Human Resources from Conestoga College and is a candidate for C.H.R.P. Nicole is an integral member of the IPAC Consulting leadership team and provides support and expertise to Business Development efforts, Human Resources and Health and Safety at IPAC Consulting.
In addition, Nicole comes to IPAC Consulting with extensive knowledge in environmental services and management. Nicole assists all health care sectors in environmental services program review, development a of policies and procedures, training and appropriate deletion of disinfectants based on evidence based guidelines and standards. Nicole also has 2.5 years of experience in the field of dentistry. Nicole’s expertise allows for a “hands on”, relatable approach to the solutions she develops for our clients.

Amy VanMassenHoven
Environmental Expert

Amy graduated from Everest College as a Personal Support Worker. Amy has eight years of experience in Long Term Care including outbreak management and management of nosocomial infections such as C.diff, MRSA, VRE, and respiratory illness. She then moved into acute care where she trained and practiced as an environmental services worker. Amy has four years of experience in cleaning, disinfection, and outbreak protocol management in a hospital setting.

Chad Tiffin
App Development

Chad Tiffin is an accomplished web developer, and also a pilot. He has designed the IPAC Consulting audit app from the ground up. The app allows IPAC Consulting experts to maximize client time, standardize audits, and provide clients with the best possible reporting to help them get to Compliance quickly and efficiently.

Donna Ward
