This in-person training program equips healthcare staff in Long-Term Care (LTC) settings with the knowledge and leadership skills to serve as IPAC Champions within their departments. Tailored to each department’s unique needs, this practical, hands-on training strengthens internal auditing skills and reinforces infection prevention best practices facility-wide.
Participants gain confidence in applying key IPAC principles, supporting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Risk Assessment
Learn how to identify and address IPAC risks in daily operations.
Routine Practices
Understand and apply core practices including hand hygiene, cleaning, and PPE usage.
Hand Hygiene
Review proper technique, compliance monitoring, and coaching strategies.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Learn correct selection, donning/doffing, and when PPE is required.
Environmental Cleaning
Department-specific training on disinfection and cleaning expectations.
Surveillance Methodologies
Intro to internal audits, tracking observations, and reporting practices.
Time Required
Half-day (3–4 hours) or full-day (6–7 hours), based on site needs.
