Respirator Awareness Train-the-Trainer
This Train-the-Trainer course equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to train others in respiratory protection and fit testing within their organization. Proper respirator use is essential for minimizing exposure to chemical, biological, and airborne hazards when other controls are not feasible, in emergency situations, or as a supplement to engineering and administrative controls.ย
Employers are responsible for implementing a written respiratory protection program, and trainers play a key role in ensuring workers are properly trained, fit-tested, and compliant with safety regulations.ย
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:ย
- Understand roles and responsibilities within a respiratory protection programย
- Conduct hazard assessments to determine respiratory protection needsย
- Select and recommend the appropriate respirator for specific workplace hazardsย
- Explain different types of respirators and their applicationsย
- Perform and instruct others in qualitative and quantitative fit testingย
- Demonstrate proper respirator use, donning, doffing, and seal checksย
- Teach and reinforce respirator care, maintenance, and storage best practicesย
- Deliver effective training sessions on respiratory protection and fit testingย

- Health & Safety Managersย

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Trainer Certification, allowing them to conduct in-house training and fit testing within their organization. This course aligns with CSA Standards (Z94.4-11) and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations.ย
