The Dental Healthcare Staff Health & Safety Training ensures that dental professionals understand their responsibilities under the Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulation, and Code. This comprehensive course covers common workplace hazards, including ergonomic strain, chemical and biological exposure, equipment safety, and infection control, helping staff create a safer environment for themselves and their colleagues.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify their roles and responsibilities in workplace health and safety
- Recognize common hazards in a dental setting and apply control measures
- Understand proper handling of sharps, radiation safety, and fire prevention
- Implement infection prevention and control (IPAC) best practices
- Respond effectively to workplace emergencies and incidents
This 4-hour self-paced course can be completed at work or from home. After finishing the training, participants will take an assessment quiz, and those who achieve a passing score of 80% will receive a certificate of completion.
